Having fun at the beach for bio blitz.

In Te Ngahere 20 lucky students were chosen to go to Waiora bay and talk to some scientist from Auckland museum. The Scientist where surveying the area to see what wildlife has changed from 250 years ago, the last people to survey this area was Daniel Sullivan and Joseph Banks. We were learning about the Birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, seaweeds and sea wildlife. I learnt a lot of things like when we were searching for insects I found a certain type of bee, it was called a masked bee. Also when Mikaire and Jahrell found a fish that they named Murray, I found out it was actually called a Olive rock fish. I really liked searching for creatures and seaweeds in the rock pools. I found a lot of cushion stars (starfish) a huge purple crab and a really cool shell. Have you ever been to a bio blitz before?

Bye.
I found this crab
