At Paihia school Four people came from Auckland University to our school and did a science magic show, it was really cool. There was fire, explosions, freezing and more. After the show and morning tea we did four rotations with all the students. My first rotation was with a lady named Caitlyn. We were making something to see if water is clean like in a river or a fish tank. I learnt that liquid nitrogen is 170c WOW! I enjoyed setting off the rockets with Nena. I think I could have done better at making the camera lens.

Waimate North Show
At Paihia School we had pet day. We made vaseline saucers, novelty containers and more. In the morning we made vaseline saucers novelty containers and 3 biscuits. We also made posters for the A & P show. When the Judges were looking at our class at Paihia school I got one certificate for participation for my vaseline saucer. At the A & P show I got 3rd place for my collage I made a couple of weeks back. I enjoyed icing the biscuits and making them look really cool. I also liked walking around and looking what other classes have been doing. Here is my poster.

Water Safty
In Te Maunga we have been learning about water safety. We learnt to check the weather before swimming or riding in a boat, never swim alone, and always be with someone responsible. We had fun learning about what to do if someone is in danger. It is a good idea to take a boogie board in case of danger. DO NOT USE FLOATIES!! Floaties will slip off and float away.

Procedural Texts
In Te Maunga we have been writing procedural texts.
We have been making things like Bird Ball, Pikelets and Flubber.
After we have finished we write a procedure of how we made it.
I enjoyed making all the different things to write about.
Next time maybe we can write something about what we have made at home.

Term 3 Writing goals
In Te Maunga we have been writing our new term 3 writing goals. Our W.A.L.T was review and select our learning goals. We all had to go onto some docs that had our names under a goal and then if our name was not highlighted we would put it on our google drawing to choose our new writing goals. I choose these goals because I think I need to learn these and I haven’t used these goals in my writing.

Maths problem solving
This term we have been doing some maths problem solving in little groups. Maths problem solving is when we all work out the question that the teacher has given us. Also there are some experts that work with the teacher so they can help us as well. We have been learning how to measure, times tables and addition. I think my group works well tougher because we are all ways helping each other and talk about the question.

Fitness
At Paihia School we have been doing some fitness in the morning. We were doing this because we were trying to get our heart pumping faster. Someone named Gina came to our school and set up little rotations and we all did different activities like high legs, running on the spot and more. My favorite rotations was the skipping. The hardest part for me was the jump jam.

One of them is there's not a lot of life and plants. We were learning about how as kaitiaki help our rocky shore.

term 2 maths goals
At the beginning of term two we had to choose some new maths goals. We had a I can sheet with our goals on it. The ones that we achieved were ticked off and we had to add 2 more strategy goals and knowledge goals. We wrote them down on a google drawing. The WALT was to choose new learning goals for this term and at least achieve 2. I choose these goals because I did not know the answers and I need to speed these goals up.

term 2 writing goals
At the start of term term two we had to get new goals. We checked a sheet with all our goals on it and names. If our names weren’t highlighted it means we had to write them down and add some spelling goals as well. Our WALT was to pick learning goals for this term. I chose these because these can improve my writing.
