In Te Ngahere we have been playing ripper rugby. A man came to our school and took the year 6’s out for a game. The man's name was Boden, first we did some exercise games. The first game we played was quick feet we had to keep our feet moving and try and tag a buddy’s knee. After that we played attackers and defenders. There will be 1 defender and 1 attacker the defender had to rip the tag off the attacker who is trying to get the ball on the line. Then we switched groups the year 7 and 8’s came out but some of the year 6’s got to stay. Then we played a game of quick rip. I didn’t know anything about ripper so I learnt a lot like If I wanted someone to pass the ball to me I have to stay behind him and you can’t though forwards. I really enjoyed playing the game of rippa and having fun outside. What I could do better next time is to though the ball to someone behind me and not in front of me.

Marble Run Reflection
We have tested our ramps and now we had to write a reflection. I was learning about all the different designs people made and what they did to make their better. On the reflection we had to write what we did well and what we could to better next time. The last question was if we did this again what will you improve. I wrote were to start the ball. I really enjoyed it when the teacher was calling out who won, My group came second and we got a tiny chocolate bar. I can’t wait until we do this activity again. Here’s a picture of my groups ramp.

Sea Cleaners
Today at Paihia School a person named Tracy came to our school to teach us about the sea and rubbish. She was from a group called Sea Cleaners and was here to teach us about putting rubbish in a bin and making sure our rubbish will not get in the water. I was learning about how many pieces of plastics sea cleaners have found in their entire job working for Sea Cleaners. 5.9 million litres WOW!!! A regular black bag is 50 letters so imagine how many black bags they would need.. What I really enjoyed was watching the video and seeing all the people helping each other and collecting all the rubbish. What I could do better next time is not be shy to ask a question. I hope someday our ocean will be plastic and rubbish free. So if you see rubbish put it in a bin and save the sea creatures. Bye.

Nga Motu
In Te Ngahere the year 6’s went into Nga Motu for the day to help the little kids with their mother day cards and pepeha. I learnt that all of the kids were really talented in their own way. What I really enjoyed was playing the three activities with the little kids. The three activities were blob tag, hare in the whare and cat and mouse. My favourite game was blob tag. What I could do better next time is let my buddy do all the work and just help him when he needs it.

Anzac Work
In Te Ngahere we have been doing some anzac maths. We had a recipe that made 30 anzac biscuits. So we had to find out what to do to make 60 biscuits. To make 60 we just doubled the recipe. What I really enjoyed was working in a group and finding the right strategy to use. What I could do better next time is show two examples.
