Talent show
Last week on Friday Paihia School had our talent show in the whare. The talent show started at 11.30 so we all stared at the clock waiting for the show. When the time came around we all gathered in the whare waiting for the first act. Firstly Mrs Lindsay talked to us about how excited she was and what the first act would be. First up was one of my friends, Vaughan. He told us some jokes that made the whole room fill with laughter. We all gave Vaughan a round of applause and moved on to the next act. There was a lot of different talents like dancing, singing, gymnastics and even a play. We had lots of giggles and laughs. What I learnt was that knowing some of my friends had these talents that I did not know about. What I really enjoyed was watching all the different dances. What I could do better next time is having the courage to hop on stage and perform.

Wing Writing
In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to write a descriptive piece of writing to paint a picture in the reader's mind. We watched a video called wings and we had to choose a little section of the video to write about. We had to use a lot of detail because that will help paint the picture in the reader’s mind. The teacher talked to us about this app that you can write a boring word and it will change it into a awesome or more descriptive word, It's called a thesaurus. My part of the video is only about 30 seconds long but I manage to write about 2 paragraphs. What I really enjoyed was using the thesaurus and changing the boring words into cool detailed words. What I could do better is next time is try not use the thesaurus and try and think of the words my self. Here is my draft copy, it is still in working progress.
