On Monday the 27th Te Maunga and Te Moana were going on camp to Cooper's Youth Camp. There was a water side, slippery hockey, a confidence course and kayaks at the camp. My favorite part was relaxing on the kayaks under the trees. I was excited because I was going to see Whaea Jessie again. Camp was amazing, it was super fun!!! When we got back we had to chose something to make about camp. I did well at listening to what the teacher was trying to say. Next time I will try not to lose anything because I found my lunch box on the last day and we need to wash them. I wonder If the next school camp will be as fun as our’s.Here is what I made for camp.

Waka Ama
On Tuesday the 31st Te Maunga drove down to Waitangi. We were doing waka ama. We learnt that you hold one hand on the handle and the other near the head. You have to it in front of you and paddle to the beat. We also learnt about parts of the Waka when everyone had a turn we put the waka on to it’s trailer and rolled it up to the grass. Lilli-Rose was the paddler of the day. did well at changing sides of where I paddle. Next time I am going to paddle to the beat because I was a little bit too fast.

We added another hoop on it and it flew really far. On Thursday I went to Miss Neumann. We were learning about how balloons power small cars. On Friday I went to Wheae Becks. We were making Oobleck. Here is what I made after science week. Hope you enjoy.

I think next time I will choose a harder goal and complete it.

Ghost Writing
In Te Maunga we have been learning how to write a story from a character's point of view. We listened to a book called Ghost and it ended with boom. We had to write the last chapter of what we thought happened next. I did well at putting in paragraphs to separate my ideas. I think next time we do this I could add a little bit more detail.
Chapter 11
BOOM!!! Brandon and I started sprinting. We took first place with the others just behind us. I thought to myself I can do this.’’ I got a little bit faster every time I said it. My mum was crying “go baby go’’ but I couldn't hear her. Brandon ran up behind me I flopped onto the floor. Then brandon shouted “see you at last place.’’ I said to myself “I can do this.’’ I jumped up saying “I can do this, I can do this, I CAN DO THIS’’
I flashed back to when we were running for our lives away from my dad. I could see my mum hiding and shivering. We heard a gun but it didn’t get us. We were scared, frightened. I opened my eyes and ran.
I ran and ran and ran. I over took all the other racers with my mum crying “GOOOOOOO.’’ Then I was right behind Brandon. I whispered to myself “it’s you and me.’’ I sprinted faster and faster and faster. I was right next to Brandon. Run, run, run. We ran to the finish line. I said “Who won? Who won? Who won?’’ Coach brody showed us a photo. It had me and Brandon. It was a 2 way tie.
When Brandon saw the photo he stopped up to me and whispered “good race.’’ Did - did did he just? I fainted. Lu poured some water on my head. I woke up “what happened?’’ Brandon said “good race dumb dumb.” Wow, just wow.

Class Craft
In Te Maunga we have been learning about relationships and friendships. We are playing game called class craft to help us with relationships and friendships. Every time the teacher sees us help someone or do something good she will give us some XP points. But if the teacher sees us do something bad or be silly she will take some HP points away. I did well at not losing any HP points and getting more XP points. I think I could think before I upgrade my character so I don't lose lots of points before I upgrade. Here is my class craft character.

Dear Miss Lindsay
Can you please give the school 600 dollars for maths hub. I think we should get the maths hub website because, it won't only help us but the whole school, don’t you want to help the school. it will help our learning, it’s easy to use and it saves time for the the teacher...
Firstly it will help our learning really well. For example if we didn’t have it we won’t learn as well. It will help us find things to do for our goals. It is great for the whole school to use as well.
Secondly it is really easy to use and it will be really fun. For example it’s clear and is the same as our I Can’s. It is not to confusing for us. It has activities to learn our goals, practice our goals and to prove our goal that we can do to the teacher.
Lastly it saves time for the teacher. It helps the teachers find activities for our goals a lot easier. You don’t have to sit on the mat and wait for the teacher to tell you what to do and waste lots of learning time, you don’t want that, do you.
Please can you buy maths hub for our learning, school and Me.
Your’s truly
Franky Sefton

treaty grounds
In Te Maunga we have been learning how to write a recount. I did well at writing the hook. Next time I could maybe make the hook longer. I hope you like my recount about our trip to the Treaty Grounds.
School trip to the treaty grounds
DING, DONG, DING, DONG!!! The super loud bell rang and the cute and tough kids ran to their classroom as fast as a lightning bolt zoom!! Everyone stumbled into a line and started to skip beside the beach. We could hear the bright blue waves crashing into the sand. Then we finally made it.
We walked up to the top of the hill then we all separated into three groups. First my group skated into the big white tent. We all paired up and we got to choose a piece of flax and started weaving. We had to go over under over under till we run out of flax. We both did one side each then we tested them. Maybe next time there could be some wind so our kite could fly.
Then our groups swapped to a different game. We were playing a game where we had to wear a blindfold and we had a rattle. I felt scared when it was my turn I was in the middle of the game then we had to go plant some baby trees.
We had to get into buddy's again. We found a great spot in the moss. Lilli-Rose’s mum Nikki helped us dig the hole. Then I slowly dropped the bring green plant in the hole and my buddy John fated the soil and we all walk back to the big white tent.
We put on our shoes and grabbed our kites then started to jog back to school. We jogged down the path to the village green we ran across the field grabbed our bags and ran as fast as the flash down to the bus. But I didn’t go on the bus I went with Nikki and Lilli-Rose too el Cafe. And that is the end of my story thank you.

The present
We have been learning how to write a recount. I did well at adding detail. Next time I could add some sound effects. We watched a video and we had to write a recount about it.
The present
One super sunny afternoon a tall 12 year old boy was playing video game and staring at the game and then his mum ran in the door slam!!! The boy was still playing his video games the his mum put a box right in front of him. He moved his head to the side growling at his mum then his mum stumbled up the stairs the boy was still playing the most awesome game but hath looking at the box then he put his control and opened the box. When he was slowly opening the box a dog jumped out. But when the boy looked at the dog one of his legs has fell of. The boy just chucked the dog on the ground. The dog barked roaf roaf!!! The dog was upside down rolling around and saw a red bouncy ball on the floor under a draw and the dog ran to it but he kept falling over. Meanwhile the boy grabbed his control then started playing video games again. Soon the dog came tumbling back. The dog did the most cutest puppy eyes ever for the boy to though the ball. The boy dropped his video games and wobbled on his feet butt he lost a leg as well. so he grabbed his and walk to the door and he said mom i will be outside. The boy opened the door and the puppy jumped around. Then the boy though the ball and the do to catch it. The boy laughed and the boy followed the dog happy.

We should have Chromebooks writing
In Te Maunga we have been learning how to write a persuasive story. we did well at the success criteria, next time I could give better reason.
I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE CHROMEBOOKS
I think Chromebooks are great because you can give better evidence to the people who are teaching us.
First on Chromebooks it takes about 30 seconds to find something online but in a book it could take hours and hours of your learning time, your teacher will get growly because you haven't done your work. if you are working on a different country and you have no idea about it you can look it up online
Secondly, working on a doc with the whole class is better than writing by yourself on one doc because you can get feedback from your writing buddy. You can work on one project when you are really far away from each other.
Lastly Chromebooks can help you get better at your writing by learning new words on a online dictionary that you don't know. When you're older you won't make any mistakes in your paper work.
I think we should have Chromebook because they're great technology and you can do just about anything and when you have done your work you can play on it!

My Powtoon
I made a powtoons of what we learned with the beach lifeguards. We walked down to the beach to see the life guards, Sam, Toobs, Liam. I think I did well at swimming to a helper to go high five them. I think next time I could swim a little bit faster. At the end we all had free time then we got dry and walked back to school.
